How a live lesson works

Clear teaching, purposeful practice and a familiar routine.

Each live phonics lesson is designed to help children focus on one carefully sequenced step without unnecessary pressure or overwhelm.

  1. Join the live online lesson

    Children join their published Zoom class and learn with direct guidance from a qualified teacher.

  2. Learn a carefully sequenced focus

    Each 25-minute lesson builds phonics knowledge step by step through clear modelling and guided practice.

  3. Apply the learning

    Children practise through blending, reading, spelling or writing in a small, supportive group.

  4. Continue with the workbook

    The included workbook provides structured practice to revisit and consolidate the lesson at home.

Fozila Akhtar created Quality First Education to give children carefully structured teaching that builds secure foundations and confidence before speed.
